The Colorado River—one of the world’s hardest-working and most-loved rivers—supplies water to more than 36 million people, irrigates four million acres of farmland, and serves as the lifeblood for native tribes, seven national wildlife refuges, and 11 national parks. It produces 4,200 megawatts of hydropower and supports a $26 billion tourism and recreation economy. Yet today, the river is a mere remnant of its former self.
Raise the River is a unique partnership of six U.S. and Mexican non-governmental organizations committed to restoring the Colorado River Delta by raising $10 million by 2017 to restore a 70-mile stretch of river and wetland habitat and to benefit the communities of the long-neglected Delta. RALLY provided Raise the River with campaign and communications strategy to help them meet their fundraising and public awareness goals. RALLY’s work contributed to widespread media coverage of the public service announcements and historic pulse flow event.
