John Joanino

Account Associate

John Joanino is an Account Associate at RALLY with experience in policy analysis, digital marketing, crowdfunding, and strategic philanthropy.

At RALLY, John manages events and supports media outreach for XQ: The Super School Project, a national challenge to rethink and design the next American high school. He also supports brand strategy and communications for Green Dot Public Schools.

Prior to joining RALLY, John managed a portfolio of cause marketing campaigns at Omaze,where he drove donor acquisition for domestic and international charities across diverse issue areas. While at Omaze, John collaborated on the creative strategy and execution of crowdfunding campaigns partnering with celebrity clients including Michael B. Jordan, Steve Aoki, John Legend, Emmanuelle Chriqui, and Channing Tatum. John curated content for celebrity partners and managed the execution of data-driven digital tactics aimed to maximize fan engagement, user acquisition, and cross-promotion. He gained experience in philanthropy and civic innovation through internships at the Goldhirsh Foundation and Cerrell Associates. At Goldhirsh Foundation, John worked on the MyLA2050 Grants Challenge, a city-wide crowdsourcing initiative awarding $1 million in grants to shape the future of Los Angeles. In his role at Goldhirsh, he worked closely with the LA2050 initiative on community outreach, social media engagement, and op-ed development.

John graduated from UCLA where he majored in Sociology and served as the student body president during his last year. As president, John ran statewide campaigns on securing new revenue for the UC, increasing access to higher education for students of color, and improving campus safety. John is also a Public Policy and International Affairs Fellow at the UC Berkeley Goldman School of Public Policy and a UCLA Law Fellow. He currently serves on the Board of Directors for the UCLA Pilipino Alumni Association.

A SoCal native, John was born in Santa Monica, grew up in Riverside, and has been a proud Angeleno for the past six years. Outside of RALLY, John loves live music, cycling, hip-hop,yoga, fashion, and most importantly, his two incredible role models—his mom and sister.
