Shayna Englin is a Principal at RALLY, where she leads a diverse portfolio of client projects and manages the firm’s business development and marketing efforts. A veteran political and communications strategist, Shayna has robust expertise in developing effective grassroots advocacy strategies at the intersection of digital and traditional tactics.
Shayna came to RALLY from Change.org, where she served as Managing Director, North America. She brings nearly 20 years of experience in campaigns, grassroots engagement, and advocacy at the local, state, and federal levels. Prior to joining Change.org, Shayna was one of very few women in a leading global public affairs firm’s senior leadership. Shayna previously built and ran her own firm based in Washington, DC, and Los Angeles, advising major national organizations on strategic policy communications and grassroots advocacy.
Working with a dozen national organizations, Shayna produced a report documenting the Advocacy Gap – the disconnect between common grassroots strategies and the way federal policy is made – and suggesting solutions. Since its release, the report has been widely referenced, and Shayna is a frequently requested speaker on the topic.
Shayna studied political science and psychology at the University of Colorado and completed a Master’s in Public Policy from the Harvard Kennedy School with a concentration in international security policy. She has since served as adjunct faculty in the George Washington University Graduate School of Political Management and Georgetown University Master of Professional Studies in Public Relations and Corporate Communications programs.
A Denver native and onetime denizen of Boston and Washington, DC, Shayna lives in Los Angeles with her husband David and her son Caleb. She’s a big fan of bourbon and American muscle cars.
