How do you encourage passive supporters of choice to become vocal advocates for abortion rights?
In conjunction with the 2016 presidential election, RALLY worked with a coalition of 14 reproductive rights groups, including NARAL Pro-Choice America, Planned Parenthood, and the Center for Reproductive Rights, to plan a cultural event with free music and comedy in support of abortion access in more than 35 cities. All Access 2016 featured nationally recognized artists, activists, and storytellers who encouraged abortion rights supporters to speak out in support of abortion access.
RALLY drafted forward-looking, research-driven messaging to engage abortion rights supporters to become activists. Using this messaging, RALLY led the marketing and media campaign around All Access, driving thousands of people to a concert that featured pop music artists Sia and Teyana Taylor and comedians Leslie Jones and Jessica Williams.
All Access 2016 raised the issue of abortion access in this country to a new level, and drove a conversation that was not just about policy, but also crossed over into popular culture. All Access Cleveland sold out, and an additional 5,000 people watched a live stream of the event. RALLY also engaged national press, resulting in articles in the New York Times, Billboard, Rolling Stone, Elle magazine, and Bustle reaching critical new audiences with a bold message about abortion access.
