Claire Shipton is an Account Associate in RALLY’s San Francisco office with experience in strategic communications, policy research and analysis, and message development.
At RALLY, Claire works with the Natural Resources Defense Council to advocate for the integration of a Western energy grid by creating social media content, website management, and supporting press outreach. Claire also supports the Center for Western Priorities by writing website content and assisting with communications strategies that promote the responsible conservation and energy practices on national public lands in the Mountain West.
Prior to joining RALLY, Claire worked for a Chicago-based communications firm where she guided clients through state and municipal regulatory approval processes, developed and supported an outreach strategy for a state-wide education initiative, and facilitated community engagement and event logistics for nonprofits.
Claire has also spent time interning for Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel in the press office, assisting the staff with event planning, media relations, and press inquiries. She has also interned for then-U.S. Congresswoman Tammy Duckworth and at D.C.-based communications firm Precision Strategies, where she conducted policy research.
Claire graduated from the University of Chicago with degrees in Political Science and Public Policy, with a specialization in Poverty Policy. Outside of the office, Claire enjoys reading, traveling, excessive NPR-listening, and cooking new recipes, which only occasionally result in disaster.
