Dana Variano is an Account Manager – Digital at RALLY’s Los Angeles office who works with issue-based organizations to concept, implement, and scale digital campaigns for change.
At RALLY, Dana works with All In WA to build and manage a website that—after it hosted a statewide COVID-19 relief concert garnering over a half-million live views—continues to raise donations for over 100 local community funds. Dana also supports NRDC by helping to hone and strategize the foundation’s organizational voice, and creating a series of user personas and engagement ladders to align digital channels.
After spending more than a decade in the advocacy space from New York to Los Angeles, Dana knows what inspires folks to act online and how to create meaningful offline impact. A trained writer, videographer, and film editor, Dana has produced action-focused digital campaigns alongside community organizers for issues ranging from immigration rights to intimate partner violence to mobility justice. She has worked with a wide spectrum of inspiring partners and clients, including the Packard Foundation, the Ford Foundation, Open Society Institute, Detention Watch, and GuideStar. Prior to joining RALLY, Dana was the Communications Director at the LA County Bicycle Coalition, and Digital Manager at CicLAvia.
In addition to her digital work, Dana is a pen and ink artist who spends most of her free time using art and media to tear down boxes that separate us from each other. Dana holds a BA in History and Film & Media Studies from Swarthmore College.
