Salman Akhtar is an Account Executive at RALLY who specializes in campaign planning, policy research and analysis, and media strategy.
Salman manages litigation communications for the Washington State Charter Schools Association, and works with NBCUniversal to lead outreach and planning around a speaker series for senior-level executives. Salman is proud to support RALLY’s pro-bono work on a federal case filed by Daniel Ramirez Medina, a DREAMer who was unconstitutionally stripped of his Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) status.
Previously, Salman worked on recruitment messaging for Teach For America, drove media outreach and messaging for leadership at Reddit, Inc., and conducted research for Ballmer Group to help develop a communications tool explaining and marketing performance-based contracting.
Prior to joining RALLY, Salman served as an intern for PwC’s Public Sector practice, Southern California Edison’s Integrated Planning and Strategy group, and split a summer between the Sierra Club’s Legislative Office and an organic farm in upstate New York. Salman is a graduate of Pomona College where he majored in Public Policy Analysis with a focus in Environmental Analysis.
Salman recently moved to the Pacific Northwest to help launch RALLY’s Seattle office. Though jaded by the superior Mexican cuisine of Los Angeles, Salman enjoys exploring Seattle’s restaurants and coffee shops, and is excited to experience seasons once again. He is currently seeking recommendations for a good pair of rain boots.
