Sean Wherley is an Account Manager in RALLY’s Los Angeles office, who draws upon his 20 years of communications experience to position organizations in the public eye and advance their work in the community.
During his career, he has managed communications and public policy for environmental, affordable housing and LGBT organizations; labor unions; federal and state elected officials; and candidates for state and local elected office. Through much of that time he has focused on earned media campaigns and securing compelling coverage in print, digital and broadcast outlets.
Sean relishes helping social justice organizations win, especially when the odds are daunting or the larger community is indifferent. There is nothing more satisfying to him than putting his communications skills and advocacy experience to work on behalf of the men, women and children who are marginalized.
He earned a bachelor’s degree in Political Science from the University of Minnesota and spent one year studying in Tanzania. Sean is a native of Wisconsin but prefers the warmer climate of Southern California, where he has lived since 2006. A former Toastmaster and stand-up comedian, he also enjoys cooking, reading, swimming, yoga, going to the beach and documentaries (one of his favorites is the Academy Award-nominee, “Burma VJ”).
