Viet has also worked as a communications consultant providing media guidance and support to national Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) organizations, including working with the National Asian Pacific American Women’s Forum in response to the March 2021 Atlanta, Georgia spa shooting to shift the media narrative and center the lived experiences of AAPI women.
Viet has served on the Board of Directors for Stonewall Sports, a national LGBTQ nonprofit sports league and with the Conference on Asian Pacific American Leadership, working to support leadership development for AAPI young people. They also previously led regional public education campaigns as an ambassador with the White House Initiative on Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders.
Viet graduated from the University of California, San Diego where they majored in Political Science and was the recipient of the Dean’s Award for Leadership and Service. He loves hikes to gorgeous views, cooking homemade Vietnamese food, and searching for the next book to get lost in.
