Youth Research: Identity, Culture, & Issue Advocacy

Philanthropies, nonprofits, and advocacy groups need to understand how young people are reshaping civic engagement. How they learn, share ideas, and show up in communities doesn’t look like it used to.
To understand what’s shifting, RALLY partnered with Gen Z research expert Rachel Janfaza to conduct focus groups and analyze data specifically among Gen Z and Gen Alpha (ages 11–21). We explored how they think about identity, culture, race, and public life—and what it takes to reach them in ways that feel real and move people to act.
